Artwork Inspiration
This piece is part of a collection shaped by the theme of growth—a slow, steady unfolding much like the natural world itself. Over the five years spent developing this body of work, the idea of growth has taken on profound meaning: gradual, resilient, and often happening beneath the surface long before it is seen.
Inspired by the ocean’s layered hues and shifting depths, the work reflects water as a long-standing metaphor in literature, poetry, and Scripture—cleansing, powerful, healing, and sometimes fierce. At the ocean, untouched by noise or digital distraction, I experience the quiet pulse of peace. “And the Spirit of God hovered over the water…”
Branches and leaves—another recurring element in this series—symbolize being rooted in a nourishing place: grounded, alive, and strengthened through both gentle rains and harsh storms.
