Resilience
Rooted in the rhythms of the natural world, Resilience explores the quiet strength found in seasons of change. Through botanical forms, flowing movement, and the interplay of light and darkness, this collection reflects on growth, restoration, and the enduring capacity to flourish.
Inspired by the symbolism of trees rooted beside life-giving water, the paintings draw upon themes of nourishment, renewal, and steadfastness. My faith has shaped the way I understand these ideas, informing my belief that even in seasons of uncertainty, there is a sustaining presence and the possibility of new growth.
Water becomes a metaphor for transformation—cleansing, nourishing, and renewing, yet sometimes powerful enough to overwhelm. Luminous leaves emerging against deeper, shadowed backgrounds reflect the tension between vulnerability and strength, reminding us that difficult seasons need not have the final word.
Each painting offers a reflection on the beauty of becoming: remaining rooted, finding nourishment, and continuing to grow through the changing seasons of life.
