Artwork Inspiration
This piece centers on the theme of continuation—the enduring, steady movement of life that carries us through seasons of change. After more than five years developing this collection, the idea has taken on rich meaning: the quiet perseverance, durability, and lasting presence that shape our inner landscapes.
Inspired by the ocean’s shifting layers and rhythmic motion, this work draws on water as a profound metaphor throughout literature, poetry, and Scripture—cleansing, healing, powerful, and at times fierce. Standing at the shoreline, where distractions fall silent, I often experience a deep peace. “And the Spirit of God hovered over the water…”
Branches and leaves, recurring symbols in this series, represent being rooted in a nourishing and life-filled place—strong enough to withstand both gentle rains and harsh storms. Their resilience echoes the very essence of continuation.
