Artwork Inspiration
This piece centers on the theme of transformation—the profound shift in form, understanding, or perspective that emerges from seasons of change. Over the five years I’ve spent shaping this collection, the concept has deepened into an exploration of how life reshapes us, often quietly and gradually.
Inspired by the ocean’s layered hues, fluid motion, and unpredictable strength, the work uses water as a powerful metaphor found throughout literature, poetry, and Scripture—cleansing, healing, beautiful, and at times destructive. When I visit the ocean, free from digital noise, I experience a deep and steady peace. “And the Spirit of God hovered over the water…”
Branches and leaves—recurring elements in this series—represent the rooted inner life: nourished, resilient, and strengthened through both gentle rains and harsh storms. Their presence echoes the essence of transformation itself.
